There have been numerous fashion houses, designers, and celebrities who put their skillful passion for fashion into action (say that 3 times fast!) to generate money for their favourite charities. Example? Natalie Portman teamed up with leading watch designer Richard Mille to design a fab timepiece with proceeds going to Toronto-based Free the Children Organization. This also happens in the cosmetics industry. Check out Lush’s charity pot which supports both international and local charities.
As mentioned, I am SUPER passionate about both fashion and giving back to the community. So yes readers, it is time to introduce the biggest and best fashion show of the Fall – A Blooming Affair!
This event consistently attracts over 900 women and men each year for an evening of fun and glamour to view fashion’s from the Region’s leading retailers! Attendees will be entertained as elite Gemini Models walk the catwalk, and can shop till they drop on the hip Boulevard of Boutiques. What kind of fashion can you expect to see at A Blooming Affair? The most chic fashion of course ranging from casual wear to lingerie to elegant formal attire.
The fashion show will also feature an exciting raffle in support of local literacy charity Strong Start Charitable Organization (in case you’re wondering – this is where you can find me that night!).
What is Strong Start?
Strong Start is all about what happens when adults spend quality time with children on carefully designed games and activities to promote good literacy development. Strong Start’s goal is to ensure that all young children learn to read. Over time, the organization has developed and supported several programs within the Strong Start® organization. Some programs involve working with children directly. Others provide resources for parents to support them in their role of promoting strong literacy skills in their children. Program are offered in schools, and local community centres.
The grand prize is a Trip for Two anywhere that West Jet flies (very Amazing Race of them). Raffle tickets, which are available from Blooming Affair volunteers and on the night of the event, are $10 or four for $25.
So come one come all to the hottest fashion event of the fall. Do good and look good at the same time by supporting local fashion and charitable organizations alike.
Are you as excited as I am? Check out last year’s video for a preview of what’s to come.
For more information on purchasing tickets or the event itself, visit the Blooming Affair Website or just ask me! And readers, if you do come, don’t be shy. Stop by and see me. I’d love to talk fashion with you pretty people.
All the best.
